Participants not in pay:

A closer look at your transition to Fidelity

As a pension participant who is not yet receiving payments from your American Airlines pension plan, you fall into one of two categories: active or term-vested. Active team members are still employed by American Airlines; term-vested team members have separated or retired from the company but have not yet commenced their pension payments.

After your transition date*, Fidelity Investments will be the new service provider for your American Airlines pension plan. If you have an American Airlines 401(k) account, this means that it will be even easier for you to manage your retirement income, since both your 401(k) and pension accounts will be at the same place.

One-stop service

With Fidelity NetBenefits®, you’ll be able to easily manage your pension plan benefit online:

  • Estimate pension payment amounts.

  • Find 401(k) and pension information and resources.

  • Track your savings and investments.

  • Commence your pension payments once you become eligible.

And, as you get closer to commencing your pension benefit, you may have access to a retirement benefits coordinator, a dedicated resource Fidelity provides to help you navigate the benefit commencement process. Active team members are eligible if they are over age 50 with more than 10 years of service at American.
